Such is life

Bit of a roller coaster going on in my life....depression rears its ugly head to show it hasn't gone away and is merely waiting in the wings!!!   Christmas commissions are put on hold...with 6 weeks? to go!...household chores seem a bigger deal...and a general non interest is taking hold....not good!

update...gotta get out of this mood!! and get on with painting, after all i get more out of art than anything in my life, so what this space!

Up to date pretty much, with commissions....soo maybeee! just maybe i can have some Dean time? (eh Beverly?) been wanting to do what 'I' want for a change for a while so I'm looking to do a nice landscape or something.

THOUGHTS.....
Things happen in life, and sometimes something unexpected can shake you up! and change the way you see your own life in both art and personal life........which way to turn?...

Our village art group have their annual exhibition this coming weekend and I've have realized that due to commissioned work, I don't have much work of my own to exhibit! so I'm borrowing a couple back and I still have a couple in progress, maybe I'll make the deadline...my job as a motor mechanic is getting in the way! ..I'm also demonstrating 'art in prog' for the visitors both days...no pressure then :)
UPDATE*
Well it started pretty well, I sold my 'Beautiful skies' painting and 17 greetings cards in the first 45mins, then the day just panned out with a steady stream of visitors, with nice comments and a few more cards sold, no commissions taken yet but I'm still catching up, so not too worried, tomorrow may be a better day...we'll see.
UPDATE II
Day 2 was much improved, altogether i sold 4 paintings and over 50 greetings cards! 2 or 3 enquiries for commissions, so all in all not a bad weekend...and even better was,  the last 3 paintings sold, were old stuff at reduced prices! next month is the village fete and the dreaded gazebo will be out again to battle the almost certain wind!! thanks to all for support rec'd it means a great deal to me !

ps ...silly me! only took 5 greetings cards of her majesty to the exhibition... all gone in the first half hour, and people asking for them all weekend....Doh!

Tomorrow I'm attending a local dog show, I'll be in my gazebo doin a bit of a demo, as well as exhibiting paintings etc. There was a time, not so long ago, that I would dread anybody watching me paint, but with practice and exposure to the public the fear soon fades, and now I really enjoy it. Lets just hope the wind dies down and I can actually use the gazebo!!
* note to self.... DO NOT UNDERSELL YOURSELF....MONKEYS WORK FOR PEANUTS!

The latest on the Queen painting is, I'm to receive a 'Competition' prize of £240 which is preferable to 'nothing' ...People present at the unveiling were saying things like 'it's a great honour' and 'you must be proud' but that doesn't pay for framing etc, so a good result after all.....us starving artists can't survive on 'honour!'
